AIMES are immensely proud to be supporting the phenomenal UK efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The crisis has highlighted the critical importance of digital technologies in supporting both healthcare provision and also research.
In recent weeks AIMES has supported the ambitious programme at St Bartholomew’s Hospital testing healthcare workers to help design personalised risk scores based on prior viral exposure and genetics and to understand hospital chains of transmission as reported on Channel 4 News (6/4/20).
Last weekend AIMES worked with NHS Digital and Isosec to deliver the roll-out of a national smartcard service and in collaboration with the IBD Registry have, in record time, created a national resource to help patients identify their risk from COVID-19.
AIMES are also working with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust to provide cloud-based VDI services to enable remote staff to work securely and to continue to comply with healthcare information governance standards.
To support research into the cardiovascular impact of COVID-19 AIMES have created a secure online e-CRF tool for data capture and have provisioned Trustworthy Research Environments to enable the secure analysis of the data.
The staff at AIMES continue to do everything we can to support our colleagues in the UK healthcare system and those contributing to the research needed to defeat COVID-19.
