AIMES are pleased to announce that we have been successful with our application for the following lots on the Office for National Statistics (ONS) framework.

Projected value of all 26 lots is estimated to be circa £8 million. The AIMES specific lots are as follows:-

  1. Data Science and Analytical services

ONS is building data science capacity and capability, and is looking to collaborate with organisations who can assist with this requirement. This may include:

  • Data manipulation.
  • Data cleaning.
  • Data sorting.
  • Data linkage.
  • Data mining.
  • Anomaly detection.
  • Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks.
  • Image processing and feature recognition.
  • Distributed processing.
  • General data science algorithm development.
  • Ethics in data science.
  • Utilizing data in innovative ways.
  • Visualization.

  1. Data Solutions and Expertise

ONS will have multiple requirements for managed services to provide analytical, statistical and methodological capability across several business areas. These specialist solutions may cover (but are not limited to) data architecture (including metadata), quality assurance, and privacy and disclosure control techniques including homomorphic encryption. This may include projects and data events, using new or existing data sources, thematic reviews and statistical transformation work.

  1. Data Research

ONS may require data research services that compliment, enhance or replace existing methods. There are four main methods of research that this may include, namely observational, experimental, simulation, and derived. This will include methods used for both quantitative and qualitative research, and may include questionnaires, focus groups, interviews, and expert panels. ONS may wish to work collaboratively with organisations to develop research, innovation, additional capacity and/or capability in the field of Data Science. This will involve ONS and other organisations sharing research, data and resources to improve knowledge and its exchange and dissemination, as required.

AIMES’ Business Development Manager Mirza Ali stated “as we have now been successful with our application to be an approved supplier, we will have greater opportunity to raise awareness of AIMES services within the Office for National Statistics and look forward to working more closely with them in the future”.
